Lack of leading enterprises in shenzhen LED industry

Enterprises of LED in Shenzhen mainly focus on upstream substrate, epitaxial wafers and chips, packaged and supporting products. The LED has formed a relatively complete industrial chain.There are more than 800 companies of LED display, backlight, semiconductor lighting products and materials and supporting products.Enterprises of LED in Shenzhen make breakthrough firstly in LED backlight, display, solar LED applications, special task lighting and others which make the  above-mentioned areas developed.
The technologys of LED display, landscape lighting and backlighting become more mature, especially, the mobile phone backlight and commercial lamps are exported in bulk,they are gradually applicated in offices, hotels, schools, underground car parks and other public places, besides, the street lights are produced in bulk.
Shenzhen Government issued development plan of the LED industry from 2009 to 2015 and other documents about development of demonstration projects,besides, LED Industry Association, standardized Union, LED International Procurement trading center, testing center, certification center, research center, quality inspection center were established which are good to develop LEDs.Shenzhen LED International Procurement and Exchange Center which has Huaqiang Group as the main building is mainly for two markets, one is product procurement market, and the other is the high-end services market of technology transfer, product brand marketing, industry data issue.
In addition,there are some problems about LED industry in shenzhen.
1:Lack of leading enterprises.
The leading enterprises with a considerable size and strength on the various links in the chain are lack in LED industry in shenzhen, the existing large enterprises have no enough drive which leads competitiveness of shenzhen LED industry is still relatively weak,the cluster effect of the professional division of labor is far from being reflected. 
2:lack of core technology and products for the upper reaches
Most LED enterprises in shenzhen focus on processing and have no enough technical support,there is a big difference for R & D capabilities compared with international standards.
3, Promotion of demonstration application is not enough.
Shenzhen LED industry is the leading in domestic, but because publicity and demonstration are not enough, the influence is limited.We need to improve in the implementation of government procurement, construction of demonstration projects, science activities, attracting public attention to speed up the market and industrial development.

Three ways to decrease prices of LED chips

While LED lights have development in full swing in domestic, indoor lighting has become the focus of the industry, although indoor lighting is less popular than LED lights, but it has bright future. While LED lighting is popular in markets, indoor lighting has larger markets than outdoor lighting, LED has unparalleled advantages in indoor lighting over other light sources.In terms of domestic market, the price is too high, most people still can not afford that.Main cost of LED lighting is the LED chip, the price of LED per lumen can reduced to the same one as per energy-saving lamps as long as chip prices decrease, LED chip has much room for price cuts, at least there are three ways as following.
1. Continue to improve light efficiency.
2. toward the big chip and high-current.
Now the chip is generally between 0.5mm to 1.5mm, the lower uminous efficiency, the larger chip, the current can not be increased if the chip is not big,this is the main problem for LED to develop towards high power LED.Towards the development of a large chip,it means making large chip to pass more current under no decreasing light efficiency, so that single LED power significantly increased (relative to the current 1W), so that the light sources of LED will be reduced to help decrease the cost of lighting.
3. Develop new substrate materials
Now materials of the power LED chips are sapphire substrate or SiC which are very expensive and are monopolized by large foreign companies, it leads to high prices of chips.To break international patent barriers, China has launched a Si substrate materials research and has some progress.The LEDs with Si will have lower prices, because the Si substrate is cheaper than sapphire and SiC substrates, and can produce larger substrates than sapphire and SiC substrate to enhance MOCVD utilization,thereby increasing the yield of the die. And the Si substrate is conductive substrate, electrodes can elicit from both sides of the die, so this can not only reduce the die area,but also eliminate dry etching on the GaN epitaxial layer. Besides, because the hardness of silicon is lower than sapphire and SiC, it is good to save costs in process. It is estimated that It will be lower 90% to use silicon substrate to make blue GaN LED than sapphire and SiC substrate than 90% lower.
With the rapid decline in chip prices, more and more people will accept LEDs, so now it is the time for companys to do the construction of technical reserves to dominate the market.Maturity and price of Indoor LED lightings are not good to develop,the real market is the overseas market, because the cost of light is high, there is a great demand for indoor lightings,then, because of the related energy legislation and supports from government. Domestically,the indoor lightings will account for 40% in semiconductors in the next three to five years with the development of the upstream chip.

Through intelligent control, LEDs can achieve the mix of light and color.Lighting will also be out of the current stage of a simple functional lighting and realize intelligent lighting. Intelligent lighting can realize automation, intelligent of lighting under condition of no need to change the hardware and cabling conditions, meantime,it also ensures uniformity of lighting effects and prolongs lamp life.Because of the above features, LED light source has become the most popular types of light in the green building.
The use of networking in the construction of large-scale wireless devices control lighting system is one method of overall sustainable green building energy management control, there are successful cases in in foreign countries.The experts from Delft University of Technology in Netherlands show intelligent lighting systems and sustainable energy management control in green building.All these shows that to use of intelligent control to provide a wider range of services has become one of the companys’ major strategies.
Although there are many control systems and equipments which are used in functional lighting and landscape lighting in domestic,but the brand integration is still relatively low, the enterprises which can fuse buildings,energey efficiency and LEDs are not too many,besides, implementation of projects and acceptance of standards are to be unified.
As more and more enterprices of IC hardware and software participate in LEDs,LED intelligent control systems will form the system development,the permeability between the industries will become more apparent.
Innovative design and intelligent control will offer platform of market and commercial value in green and energy-saving LEDs.But whether it is to achieve light or innovative design, human comfort and safety come first, “people first” is an important requirement and and a idea for the development of LED.

RGB LED lights come in a variety of different styles that can be used in many different ways. They got the name RGB because they combine the colors red, green and blue together. Solid state relays

Solid state relays have been widely utilized in replacement of mechanical or electromechanical relays because of their many advantages including miniaturized configuration, elimination of contact bounce, low-energy consumption, decreased electrical noise, compatibility with digital circuitry, and high-speed switching performance. A solid state relay provides isolation between a control circuit and a switched circuit and may replace an electromechanical device such as a reed relay. There are many kinds of solid state relays available now. Most have triac thyristors that act as main switches which are triggered by diac semiconductors to provide a controlled on and off function. A typical solid state relay consists of a light emitting diode (LED) optically coupled across an electrically isolating gap to a photodiode array. The photodiode array is electrically connected to a output device such as a field effect transistor (FET). Light from the LED creates a voltage across the photodiode array and activates the output FET. A solid state relay has all its components made from solid state devices and involves no mechanical movement. An input circuit and an output circuit are electrically isolated from each other by a photo-coupler, and a load is selectively connected and disconnected to the output circuit according to a signal supplied to the input circuit. They are compatible with digital circuitry and have a wide variety of uses with such circuits.

reed switches

A reed switch is a mechanical electrical switch having a pair of ferromagnetic contacts in either a normally-open or normally-closed configuration. Reed switches are a low voltage switch, generally in the one watt range. A reed switch comprises confronting contact points including magnetic wire members and a glass tube enclosing those points and performs open/close operations of the contact points by applying a magnetic field from the outside of the glass tube. The contacts are normally spaced apart when they are in close proximity to a magnet and they are moved toward each other to close the switch when the magnet is moved a certain distance from the switch. In a reed switch, two lightweight metallic rods are hermetically sealed through opposite ends of an elongated hollow glass tube in such a manner that they extend substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the tube. In the presence of a magnetic field, the contacts of a normally-open reed switch will close, while the contacts of a normally-closed reed switch will open. Reed switches are commonly used for sensing the position of a mechanism the movement of which is to be monitored, by providing a switched output in response to the passage or approach of an actuating magnet carried by the mechanism. Reed switches are used in a variety of devices, including relays of the electromagnetic and electromechanical type, as well as motion and proximity sensors.

membrane switches

A membrane switch is a multilayered switch device that is touch activated to make or break the electrical connection of a particular switch element. Membrane switches have become popular for use in industrial controls, home appliances, office equipment and automotive applications. Most often, membrane switches are designed for intended use as keyboard, key pad, or front panel interfaces to provide instructions from a user to operate various items, such as computers, manufacturing equipment and vending machines. Membrane switches normally employ a pair of stacked flexible membranes having opposed contacts printed on their facing surfaces. An intermediate layer is disposed between the outer two layers and acts to isolate the switch circuit patterns from each other. Electrical conductors, also printed on the facing surfaces of the membranes, communicate electrical signals to and from the contacts. Finger pressure applied to the switch pushes a conductive pad on the membrane into contact with a similar pad on the substrate. Contact between the pads closes the switch and completes the electrical circuit. Membrane switches are particularly well-suited for use in certain environments wherein it is desired to seal an electronic system against moisture, dust etc. Membrane switches have recently come into wide use for the keypads of cellular phones or portable personal computers or the various control panel switches of household electrical appliances.

rocker switches

A rocker switch is a device having a plurality of terminals and means operated by a rocker for making and breaking electrical connections between pairs of those terminals. A rocker switch includes a button that is mounted to a case to pivot about an axis. A spring is typically placed in contact with the button to exert a biasing force that will maintain the button in one or more of the stable positions. The plunger operates a rocker actuator by a force exerted from the spring. The spring also supplies the force that causes the switch to toggle from one stable position to another. In general, the rocker switch is constructed such that its switch components or parts are housed in a square or rectangular housing the top of which is open and an operation button is mounted at the opening space of the box at the top thereof such that it can be moved for seesaw movement.

pressure switches

The pressure switch closes or opens an electrical contact in response to changes in sensed pressure in a cavity. Pressure responsive switches sense a change in pressure and respond to such changes by alternately making and breaking an electrical connection. A pressure responsive switch basicallycomprises a diaphragm responsive to a pressure change, a rigid ring for securing the diaphragm, and a pair of electrically conductive contacts. The diaphragm is resiliently biased and preloaded by a spring. Many pressure switches are electromechanical devices. Such devices typically include a Bourdon tube connected to the pressure source, which tube activates a snap action microswitch. A differential pressure switch employs a diaphragm that is driven in one direction or the other based upon the pressure differential existing across the diaphragm. Pressure-sensitive switches are used in a variety of applications where it is desired to switch apparatus on or off at predetermined pressures. Pressure switches employing a flexible diaphragm for sensing pressure are commonly employed in household washing machines for sensing pressure in a tube connected to the bottom of the washing machine receptacle. Pressure switches are widely used for controlling electrically operated devices by switching an electrical contact between open and closed circuit positions based on a preset fluid pressure threshold. Relatively complex pressure switches have been used for specific applications such as in automobile engines, refrigeration systems, industrial equipment, etc.
